Baby: '68 Z
a little about the "8"
The biggest of thanks to my Pop for making this car what it is, and to Mom for letting us keep it. Baby features "dark sapphire blue" and "snow white" paint. A custom interior, by Riteway Upholstery (my Pop's place), done in dark and light blue velvet and dark blue leather in place of the factory black vinyl and houndstooth inserts. A custom sewn carpet (matching floor mats and trunk work also by Pop) and a 67 console matched perfectly.
Under the hood is a 333 ('68 327 bored .040) with steel crank, powdered metal rods, forged domes, Edelbrock Performer RPM and Demon carb lead to Trick Flow heads, and a Comp Cams valvetrain. Ceramic coated headers lead to dual 2.5" pipes with "H" and 2-chamber Flowmaster Deltaflows
Backing the 333 is a 200-4R with Transgo shift kit and Hughes stall converter leading to a 12-bolt with 4.10 gears.
American Racing CP200s on the corners.
My father passed away Feb. 5, 2003 . . . this car is a symbol of the time spent with him. Miss you pop.
